Ernest “Ernie” Myers brings over 32 years of legal experience to his mediation practice, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil matters. His background includes litigation involving residential and commercial property damage, personal injury (including automobile negligence and premises liability), wrongful death, insurance coverage and bad faith, commercial and construction disputes, and firearms law.
Ernie has deep experience with both first-party and third-party insurance issues, having represented insurance carriers, their insureds, and third-party claimants. His balanced perspective makes him particularly well-suited to mediate complex, multi-party disputes.
A certified Circuit Court and County Court mediator, Ernie also chaired a Florida Bar Grievance Committee and has represented attorneys in disciplinary proceedings. He holds an AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1992.
Mr. Myers earned his B.B.A., magna cum laude, from Temple University, and his J.D. from the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state and federal courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court, where he appeared in 2015.
Outside of his legal work, Ernie serves on the Board of Directors of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation and coaches a nationally recognized Scholastic Action Shooting Program team. He also serves as a Blue and Gold Officer for the United States Naval Academy.
Mr. Myers is certified to mediate cases in all Florida Circuit and County Courts, and to mediate federal cases in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
